Early 18th century large covered tobacco spice jar great shape

The wood looks too be Mahogany or a cherry but very early turned piece. 18th century with a dry natural surface. Measures 8 tall by 6 inches wide . Great wear and believe me super condition no cracks or damage. You just don’t see very early covered large jars . Could have held tobacco or spices.
